John Nalivka is a Partner in Land & Livestock Advisory Service, LLC, a Ranch Resource Management and Advisory firm located in Lakeview and Vale, Oregon. He earned a BS degree in Animal Science from the University of Idaho and an MS degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Nevada at Reno. Nalivka is also the President and owner of Sterling Marketing, Inc., an agricultural, economic and advisory firm he became involved with in 1991 and purchased in 1994. He brings broad professional expertise to Land & Livestock Advisory Service with his knowledge of the economics of the livestock and meat industries, including producers, packers, processors, banks, and restaurants. In addition to supplying market information and advice, Nalivka has nearly 20 years of experience applying proven techniques to analyze the economics of individual livestock operations throughout the western USA. He has completed economic studies for clients involved in public lands litigation, estate planning, business evaluation, and strategic planning. Having gained solid work experience on large family and corporate-owned ranches throughout the western U.S., Nalivka appreciates the uniqueness as well as the importance of the many characteristics, which define the economics of individual ranching operations. Nalivka has written and presented extensively on topics and issues concerning the livestock and red meat industries. He is a member of several industry trade associations.
